FDM 3D Printing (Fused Deposition Modelling)
FDM 3D Printing (Fused Deposition Modelling) is in simple terms the laying down of hot melted plastic filament through an extruder of a desired design via a slicing software file. Whilst primarily using many simple plastics, this method traditionally offers a good cosmetic replication rather than a structual and functional part. However, with the correct materials and application, functional parts can be created, from the large and ever growing variety of materials, textures and colours, and again can produce from the smallest technical items to very large scales.
